Positive?

Are you positive that Jesus has forgiven your sins?

The following scriptures show how to follow God’s plan to be sure you are going to heaven.

1. ACCEPT THAT WE HAVE SINNED AGAINST GOD

No one is perfect. No one has lived up to God’s perfect standard.

(Romans 3:23), “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

(Romans 3:10), “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”

2. ACCEPT THAT AS A SINNER, WE OWE A PENALTY

This death is described in the Bible as spiritual death; total separation from God forever.

If we pay what we owe as sinners, we must spend an eternity alone without God.

(Romans 6:23), “For the wages of sin is death … .”

(Ezekiel 18:4), “The soul that sins, it shall die.”

3. UNDERSTAND THAT CHRIST HAS ALREADY PAID FOR OUR SIN

Christ himself never sinned, but the Bible teaches that God took all of our sin and placed it on Christ. While Christ was bearing all of our sins in His own body, God punished Him in our place to pay the debt we owe.

(John 3:16), “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

(II Corinthians 5:21), “He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

It is a fact; Jesus Christ has already paid our sin debt.

(Romans 5:6), “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.”

(Hebrews 2:9b), ” . .that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”

4. ACCEPT BY FAITH WHAT JESUS CHRIST DID FOR YOU

In this verse. Jesus divides the world into two groups: those who are believing and those who are not believing on the Son. Those who believe have everlasting life, and those who believe not shall not see life:

(John 3:36), “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

The word believe means to trust, to depend on, to rely on. To believe on the Lord Jesus Christ means that we accept the fact that we have sinned, that as sinners we owe the sin penalty, and that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the debt we owe.

But it means going one step further. It means that me must completely trust Christ to get us to Heaven – that we will put the matter of our salvation in His hands and depend on Him for everlasting life.

Now the moment we do this, God promises we are not condemned but have everlasting life and that we will not have to pay our own sin-debt.

(John 5:24), “Verily, verily, I Say unto you, He that hears my word, and believes on him that sent me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

If you will trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, pray this simple prayer from your heart:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I know I have sinned against you. I deserve to pay my own sin debt but I believe that You died for me, to pay the debt that I owe.

I believe you are the only Son of God. I believe that you died in my place, taking what I deserve. I believe in my heart that you were resurrected from the dead. Forgive me for sinning against you. I accept you as the only one who can save me from my sins and the punishment that I deserve.

Fill me with your love and Holy Spirit and help me to serve you forever.

Amen!

SIMPLE STEPS TO GROW IN CHRIST AFTER PRAYING THE ABOVE PRAYER

1. Spend Daily Time In Prayer and The Bible.

The Bible makes it clear that when we come to Christ that “old things are passed away, and behold all things are become new”. Jesus said that “Ye Must Be Born Again”. This means that just like a new baby needs milk to grow and survive, your spiritual man needs to grow by reading the Word of God. This is life! Begin reading in the Book of John in the New Testament reading a few chapters a day, and then stop and think about what you have read.

Prayer is talking with God! It is once again having fellowship and communion with our Creator that had been broken off as a result of the sin in the Garden of Eden. God desires to have fellowship with us so much that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to restore that relationship so precious to His heart. You will find that as you spend time with God on a daily basis that your love for Him will grow deeper every day.

2. Find a Full-Gospel Bible Teaching Church in your area.

Attending a church that preaches the Good News of the Gospel as seen above is the kind of church you will want to be involved in. There is something dynamic about the fellowship, friendship, and encouragement of other believers that will cause you to grow in God as well. DO NOT LOOK FOR A PERFECT CHURCH! YOU WILL NOT FIND ONE! Churches are made up of people just like you and I who fail, but this must not be a deterrent for you getting involved in church.

Hebrews 10:25
Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

3. Tell Someone Else That You have received Christ As Your Savior.

Matthew 10:33
But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

One of the most powerful things we can do following our Salvation, is to tell someone else that we have received Christ as our Savior. No need for great theological statements, just you as a witness telling what happened to you!

If you have prayed the prayer above, and would like to begin right now to tell us that you have accepted Christ, please do so below, and we will put someone from your local Assemblies of God church in contact with you.

If You have made this decision and received Christ as Savior, please send us an e-mail and tell us about it!
